Makeup tricks that make features appear smaller is called countouring. This is how it works: darker colors appear to receed the area that you put it on, and lighter or light reflecting colors will bring forth the area that you put it on. Do not put a blush on the sides of your nose to make it appear smaller, because all that will do is bring it out. You need a darker color to do the contouring for you. MAC cosmetics sells a contouring powder, but a general rule of thumb is to buy a pressed or loose powder that is about 3 shades darker than your normal skin tone. You will also need the highlighting color which should be about a shade or two lighter than your normal skin tone.
To make a big nose look smaller make the contour or darker color on the out side of the nose and use a highlight or lighter color on the top of the nose. OR apply shader to the nose and then subtly blend. Highlight the surrounding skin and slightly onto the sides of the nose. Keep blusher away from the nose.I have a large nose and won't have surgery, but what are some makeup tricks that could make it appear smaller?
i have the exact same problem. i suggest you wear dark eye makeup, such as black eyeliner and mascara and smoky brown eyeshadow. this will draw the attention to your eyes instead of your nose. also, wearing long earrings makes your nose look smaller. try to draw the attention to your best feature, whatever that may be. the trick is to take the attention off your nose and focus it somewhere else.
